Magnesia carbon brick is a compound refractory material. It takes use of slag resistance ability of magnesite sand, high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion of carbon to compensate the poor spalling resistance of magnesite sand which is the biggest drawback.
Magnesia carbon bricks are mainly used in the lining of converter furnace, AC arc furnace, DC arc furnace and slag zone of ladle. The quality of magnesite sand which is the main refractory raw material of magnesia carbon bricks effects much on the performance of magnesia carbon bricks. The higher the content of Magnesium Oxide, the less impurity, the stronger resistance to slag penetration and slag melting loss.
