The furnace lining is generally composed of alkaline materials. The alkaline oxides in the slag (such as CaO, MgO, MnO) have little effect on the furnace lining, while the acidic oxides in the slag (such as SiO2, TiO2, ZrO2, P2O5, etc.) Great effect. The age of the furnace is mainly related to w(SiO2) in the slag. The basicity of the alkaline electric arc furnace slag is generally between 2 and 4, so that the slag has a small erosion ability and a high impurity removal ability.
