Different recarburizers have different qualities. For example, there are graphite recarburizers and coal-based recarburizers. Although they are all recarburizers, they are different in basic characteristics, absorption coefficients, prices, advantages and disadvantages, etc. It is not very large, but if it is not used properly, it will also affect their recarburization effect.
1.The raw materials of the two recarburizers are different: graphite recarburizer is made of artificial graphite graphitized at 2830 degrees, and coal recarburizer is made of anthracite.
2. The basic characteristics of the two recarburizers are different: graphite recarburizer has the advantages of low sulfur, low nitrogen, low phosphorus, high temperature resistance, good conductivity, etc. High-quality coal recarburizer cannot achieve the ideal recarburization effect.
3. Different absorption coefficients: The absorption coefficient of graphite recarburizer is above 90%, and the absorption coefficient of coal recarburizer is basically around 70%. This is why graphite recarburizers with lower fixed carbon content can also be used.
4.The price of the recarburizer is also different: the graphite recarburizer is slightly more expensive than the coal-based recarburizer, but the overall cost of use is much lower.
5. The shapes are different: the graphite recarburizer is a shiny cylinder, and the coal-based recarburizer is a block particle.
6. The graphite recarburizer has a lower melting point for steel, a higher steelmaking temperature, and severe combustion, but the absorption coefficient is not high. The coal-based recarburizer has a high melting point. Although the absorption coefficient is low, it will not burn. It is not worse than graphite, but the price difference is large, and the number of steel mills is generally large. From a cost perspective, this is unacceptable.
7. Graphite recarburizer is suitable for ductile iron with strict sulfur requirements, high carbon fixation, and good absorption coefficient, especially for medium-frequency furnaces from half a ton to 12 tons. 8. The products produced with coal-based recarburizer are not only inferior to graphite recarburizers, but also have a higher sulfur content, which reduces their output.
